This demonstration of the E-6B Electronic Tech Manuals was designed to be accessed by E-6B maintenance workers through the home screen of the E-6 Technical Manual Web Server.

The interactive, web-based learning tool describes the rationale for electronic maintenance manuals, their advantages over paper documents, the E-6B ETMs' current functionality, and expected future enhancements in the system. The demo presents this material in simple HTML format that can be used readily on a variety of web servers, with rapid downloading by users who have standard web access.

Information about the ETMs is conveyed through a multimedia format making use of text, photographic images, illustrations, and interactive practices of current and future functionality. The demo has three sections: 1) Introduction, 2) Current Functionality, and 3) Future Enhancements. The "Introduction" presents the rationale and advantages of electronic tech manuals. The "Current Functionality" section demonstrates how users can navigate through the ETMs and what resources they can access. The "Future Enhancements" section shows the some of the potential of ETMs for offering: a) interactive images that enhance visual information accessible to users; b) online parts ordering; and c) integrated training modules that allow novice maintenance workers to learn online how to use the ETMs.

The demonstration is complete in its present form but can be easily modified or extended to include a more detailed description of the ETMs. It can be enhanced through use of animations, brief video clips, and additional interactive practices.
